Basic Protein Cold Foam Recipe

Here is the basic version I found works best. Not too thick or chalky. Give it a try:
Total Time 5 minutes

Equipment

  • handheld milk frother
  • small cup or frothing pitcher
  • Measuring spoon:
  • glass for the iced coffee
  • spoon, if you want to scoop the foam instead of pouring it

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup cold milk
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or half-and-half
  • ½ scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1–2 teaspoons vanilla syrup or maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • iced coffee, cold brew, or an iced latte for serving

Instructions

  • Add the milk, cream, protein powder, syrup, vanilla, and salt to a small cup or frothing pitcher.
  • Froth for 20–40 seconds, until the foam looks thick and creamy.
  • Fill a glass with cold brew, iced coffee, or an iced latte.
  • Spoon or pour the protein cold foam on top.
  • Drink it right away while the foam is still fluffy.

Notes

The foam should be fluffy but still pourable. You’re not trying to make stiff whipped cream here. If it stands up like cake frosting, it probably went too far, or there’s too much powder in the cup.
