Orange Cardamon Latte Recipe Homemade

How to Make a Hot Orange Cardamom Latte

Once the orange cardamom syrup is ready, the latte itself only takes a few minutes.
Total Time 5 minutes

Equipment

  • Espresso Machine or Moka Pot:
  • Coffee mug
  • Milk pitcher or small saucepan
  • Steam wand, handheld frother, or French press
  • Spoon:
  • Fine grater or citrus zester

Ingredients

  • 2 shots espresso or ½ cup concentrated moka pot coffee
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1–2 tablespoons orange cardamom syrup
  • A little fresh orange zest for the top

Instructions

  • Brew Your Espresso: Brew two shots of espresso directly into your mug. Concentrated moka pot coffee also works, but make it strong enough to remain noticeable after adding milk and syrup.
  • Mix in the Syrup: Add one tablespoon of orange cardamom syrup while the espresso is still hot, then stir well. Taste it before adding more. It is much easier to increase the sweetness than to rescue a latte that already tastes like syrup.
  • Steam the Milk: Steam or froth the milk until it feels creamy and smooth. You want enough foam to give the latte some texture, but not so much that half the mug becomes dry bubbles.
  • Finish With Fresh Orange Zest: Pour the steamed milk over the sweetened espresso. Finish with a small amount of fresh orange zest—just enough to release that citrus aroma when you bring the mug closer.

Notes

Final tip: If the orange flavor seems weak, add another teaspoon of syrup rather than piling zest onto the drink. Too much zest can quickly become bitter and cover the cardamom.
