Mastering Your Frappe: Step-By-Step Guide

Making a delicious frappe at home is easier than you might think. With the right tools and ingredients, you can whip up a refreshing, frothy drink in no time. Here's how to master your frappe.
Total Time 5 minutes

Equipment

  • Blender or Shaker: A blender is ideal for a smooth, frothy texture, but a shaker can work if you don't have a blender.
  • Measuring Spoons: For accurate measurements of coffee and sugar.
  • Tall Glass: To serve your frappe.
  • Straw: Optional, but it adds to the experience.

Ingredients

  • Instant Coffee: 2 teaspoons (you can use decaf if preferred).
  • Sugar: 1-2 teaspoons, adjust to taste.
  • Tall Glass: To serve your frappe.
  • Straw: Optional, but it adds to the experience.

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients: Measure 2 teaspoons of instant coffee and 1-2 teaspoons of sugar. Adjust the sugar based on how sweet you like your frappe.
  • Blend the Coffee Mixture: In a blender, combine the instant coffee, sugar, and 1/4 cup of cold water. Then, blend for a few seconds until the mixture is frothy and well combined. If you're using a shaker, add the same ingredients and shake vigorously until frothy.
  • Add Ice and Blend: Add 1 cup of ice cubes to the blender. If you want a creamier frappe, add 1/4 cup of milk or cream. Blend until the ice is crushed and the mixture is smooth and frothy. This should take about 30 seconds. If using a shaker, add the ice and shake again until well-mixed.
  • Customize with Flavors (Optional): If you like flavored frappes, now is the time to add a splash of your favorite syrup, such as vanilla or caramel. Blend briefly to mix the flavors.
  • Serve: Pour the frappe into a tall glass. If you used a shaker, pour the mixture over additional ice cubes in the glass.
  • Garnish and Enjoy: If desired, garnish with whipped cream or a drizzle of syrup. Insert a straw and enjoy your homemade frappe immediately.
