Step-by-Step Guide: Making Nitro Cold Brew

It's time to leave the basics behind and get our hands working. Now let's see how you can brew this fantastic coffee brew:

Equipment

  • Large jar or pitcher
  • Fine mesh strainer or coffee filter
  • Nitrogen-infused coffee maker or whipped cream dispenser with nitrogen cartridges
  • Measuring cups
  • Stirring Spoon:
  • Serving glass

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Nitrogen gas canister

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cold Brew: Start by adding 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee beans to a large jar or pitcher. Pour 4 cups of cold water over the coffee grounds. Stir well with a spoon to ensure all the grounds are fully soaked. Cover the jar and let it steep in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours. The longer you steep, the stronger the coffee will be.
  • Strain the Coffee: After steeping, remove the jar from the refrigerator. Use a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter to separate the coffee grounds from the liquid. Pour the cold brew through the strainer into a clean container, ensuring no grounds make it through. This will give you a smooth coffee concentrate.
  • Infuse with Nitrogen: Pour the strained cold brew into a nitrogen-infused coffee maker or a whipped cream dispenser. If using a whipped cream dispenser, charge it with a nitrogen cartridge according to the manufacturer's instructions. Shake the dispenser well to mix the nitrogen with the coffee.
  • Serve: Hold the serving glass at an angle and slowly dispense the nitro cold brew into the glass. The nitrogen infusion will create a creamy texture and a frothy head. Serve immediately and enjoy the rich, smooth taste of your homemade nitro cold brew.
