Steps To Make a Red Flat Coffee (Easy Recipe)

Flat Red Coffee is simple to make and perfect for anyone looking to combine the boldness of espresso with the vibrant, fruity kick of red fruit tea.
Total Time 5 minutes

Equipment

  • Espresso machine or coffee maker to brew your espresso.
  • Tea kettle or infuser for steeping the red fruit tea.
  • A heat-resistant glass or mug to show off the beautiful layered colors.

Ingredients

  • Espresso: 1-2 shots for that bold coffee foundation.
  • Red fruit tea: Look for a blend with hibiscus, berries, or pomegranate. (I mention some of my favorite options below)
  • Sweetener (optional): A drizzle of honey or a spoonful of sugar adds just the right touch of sweetness.
  • Milk (optional): A splash of milk softens the flavors for a creamier finish.

Instructions

  • Brew the red fruit tea: Use 1-2 teaspoons of loose-leaf tea or a tea bag. Steep it in hot water for 3-5 minutes, adjusting the steeping time to your taste preference.
  • Prepare the espresso: Brew 1-2 shots of espresso using your favorite method, whether it’s a machine or a stovetop Moka pot.
  • Combine the espresso and tea: Pour the brewed red fruit tea into a mug. Add the espresso shots and gently stir to create a perfectly balanced blend.
  • Sweeten and serve: Add a touch of honey or sugar if you like a little extra sweetness. Enjoy it hot, or chill with ice for a refreshing iced version.

Notes

Personal Tip:

If you’re going for an iced Flat Red Coffee, try freezing some red fruit tea into ice cubes. It keeps your drink cold without watering down the flavors—total game-changer!
